Moving on

So, in 2012, I wrote a letter to the man I broke up with in 2000. We reconnected and had a lot of ups and downs but married in 2015. So, here I am today, mostly happily married but still feel like every day is trial and error.

So, after four years of abuse and two children, I finally filed for divorce. There were so many other events that followed. To many to get into at the moment. Maybe someday I will write a book. It took over five years for the divorce to finalize. I actually met my current husband in 1999. We dated briefly and on my 30th birthday I decided I wanted more. We mutually ended the relationship. I did meet someone else a year later and married in 2001. He was more abusive than the first husband and I ended that relationship after 4 months of marriage.

Fairy tales are just that

My first marriage was when I was 19 years old. I was madly in love and thought my fairy tale was just beginning. The fairy tale ended shortly after the wedding when I became pregnant and the abuse started. I was four months pregnant and was given a concussion. The abuse continued up until my son was born and then after he was born. I was beaten, choked, raped and emotionally destroyed. The fairy tale ended before it even began.
